Friday Monster Blogging

This is all the fault of my friends Felix and Dr. C., who made me waste time making this.

  1. Would you believe that's been in a service as a desk ornament for 35 years? Friends on the same geology course got it for me for my 18th birthday.

  2. Is it motorised, or did you somehow manually animate it?

  3. It's clockwork: you can see the key rotating just behind its right front leg.

  4. I thought it must be ... but I could see neither key nor mechanism (and I've seen many wooden dinosaurs but never a motorised one).

Even with your directions, I couldn't see the key on a play through ... but by stepping through it gradually, finally spotted the turn and can now see it clearly at normal speed.

  5. Clever, these booksters. I had thought of a reference to "A Clockwork Orange" but my last mention of Anthony Burgess didn't raise a ripple. I'll get even by reading Enderby. Did you know that "Aside from literature, Anthony Burgess was an accomplished musician and linguist. He composed over 250 musical works, including a first symphony around age 18?" I didn't.
